Aditya, today's fun is tomorrows reality... and some times its today's reality :-). Well, there are crazy people out there who have done some of these!

Marriage 2.0 !
e-invites happen, the other day I got one! The best thing about the e-invite was that you can see who all are coming and how, so that you may pool. http://www.evite.com

My friend even setup a site, which explained how they (couple) met, what their background where, what attracted each other, what their friends said, testimonial etc. etc. :-)
http://www.prasadandsuji.com/

Gifts & Presents - this is already implemented around 6 years back [I was suggested to make such a wish list for my marriage!]. The real world equivalent, you can even share with people. Like, say if there is an LCD TV and you cannot afford to pay for whole TV, then you can make part donation.

As far as webcast goes:
I have heard it has been done, but I have never seen one, or been part of a marriage which was webcasted. A simple google search tells me that there are people who provides the service.

I thought of some more advantages:
Since you are going to take a photo, you can retouch it in photoshop before you upload it! You can change the color of your saree or paste some additional zaree work! All for free!

I remember there used to be this photo studio that we would go to get passport sized photos. That guy had a half-suit with a tie pasted on it. It was basically only 12 inches long in the front and nothing in the back, but when you looked through the camera's lens, it looked like a real suit!

I'm sure we can have stuff like that too!

I would say the days are not far away. Already, now it is a custom to send invitation by mail... and uploading marriage photos and videos to blogs ... online banking is already available ... even, we have online pooja registration ... And recently, I came across a wedding, wherein, couple of links were given for online donation (CRY...) to social causes instead of giving gifts .... time is changing ... so, i would not be surprised if someone thought of following what you said ... it's practically possible ...

just touched my heart.

around two years back, had seen a girl. couldn't marry her because of one stupid reason that the girl's parents wanted marriage in their town and my parents wanted it to happen in our town. never been able to forget her since then .. :(

The problem would have been solved so easily if Marriage 2.0 was in place at that time :(( :((

All great ideas seem ahead of their time. There will come one day where this will be the "fashionable" way to do weddings, and that day will be a true triumph for Adityaism.
