I dont advise that you start crying, but perhaps pretending to fall asleep with some loud intermittent snoring could put the wife in a spot of bother. Notice how the wife never takes you to a scary movie coz she gets scared.. Why dont you use the same trick..? Wake up with a nightmare after each movie, walk out in the middle of one sweating and shivering. The wife will feel sorry for you and stop taking you thinking its a new phobia..
