We know politicians like to use dirty tactics, but this is ridiculous. Venezuela recently had an election, and the opposition decided to create a stink by speculating that the country was very soon going to run out of Toilet Paper.

The people predictably responded by hoarding rolls and rolls of toilet paper, and actually creating a shortage which in turn, made the original rumor come true.

“We know there are sectors that are hiding toilet paper“, Venezuela’s Finance Minister said, in a desperate attempt to dampen the toilet-paper-rush. Sometimes, the world just doesn’t make any sense.
